From the Ballfield and Battlefield to the Boardroom

A soldier, coach, and speaker dedicated to building resilience and performance in every arena of life.

Why I Serve

Why I Serve

I believe everyone deserves the chance to become the best version of themselves—healthy, fulfilled, and leaving a legacy that matters. Life isn’t meant to be lived alone. To truly thrive, we have to treat it like a team sport—building authentic connections and serving others along the way.

That’s why I’ve dedicated my life to service from the ballfield to the battlefield to the boardroom.

My Vision & Mission

My Vision & Mission

Vision: Make mental fitness accessible to everyone by democratizing and normalizing it through technology, education, and qualified professionals.

Mission: Help performers, leaders, and teams build the mental strength to lead, grow, and win from within.

Forged Through Sport, Service, and Sacrifice

Forged Through Sport, Service, and Sacrifice

I grew up in Oakdale, California, in a family rooted in service and sacrifice. Sports, scouting, and the outdoors shaped me early, and football led me to West Point, where I played for the Army Black Knights.

After graduating in 2001, I spent 20+ years as a Field Artillery officer—leading Soldiers in combat, serving with elite Special Forces units, and teaching psychology and leadership at West Point. Along the way, I helped pioneer health and human performance programs that continue to shape today’s military.

When I retired, I carried that mission forward—coaching mental performance in Major League Baseball and now in the National Football League.

The hardest battles I’ve fought weren’t in Iraq or Afghanistan—they were in the eight inches between my ears. Those experiences taught me that adversity doesn’t define us—it reveals us.

What I’ve Learned

What I’ve Learned

People are complex, but we can all train to be more resilient and high-performing.

  • You don’t have to be sick to get better—mental fitness is for everyone.

  • The more we understand ourselves, the more we can lead and influence others.

  • Mental fitness is about decisions (how we process what happens) and choices (how we respond).

  • Thanks to neuroplasticity, our brains can change—and we can train them just like our bodies and craft.

The competitive edge—whether in sports, leadership, or life—is mental fitness.
